KINETON,
18th September, 2006 --- Kineton Playgroup announced
today that it has opened its after-school club at
Kineton
Primary school
and appointed
Carol
Hooper as the supervisor.
Hooper,
is one of the existing staff at Kineton Playgroup in addition to
leading the Kineton branch of Rainbow Guides.
Hooper
commented: “Our aim at the after-school club is to give the
children the opportunity to enjoy themselves.
After a long day at school we focus on the social, the
imaginative and the fun. We
play board games, football and hide n’ seek.
We do arts n’ crafts, construct objects with Lego and other
materials and build dens. We
pick blackberries, go for walks and plan to start a gardening club.
We want the children at the club to use their imaginations to
have safe, fun play and most of all we want them to enjoy the
experience.”
The
after-school club opened at the start of term, on Tuesday 5th
September and operates from 3.15pm to 6pm during term time for
primary age children.
Kineton
After School Club is run by Kineton Playgroup Limited.
Kineton Playgroup became a limited company on 1st
August, 2006.
The
Playgroup was awarded lottery funding in December 2005 to construct
a purpose built pre-school facility on land situated at
Kineton
Primary School
. The
after-school club is part of a series of developments linked to the
new building from which Playgroup
will provide facilities for adult education in basic skills,
lectures and health education sessions with local health
professionals and creative workshops for both adults and children.
These will be done in conjunction with
Kineton
Primary School
and will follow the Government’s Every Child Matters and
Extended
Schools
agendas. The new building is
scheduled to open in September 2007.
