Introduction

Kineton Playgroup Ltd is an independent Playgroup operating from the Methodist Hall in Kineton and has been serving the local community since 1967.  The Playgroup is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, a registered charity and is registered under the Children’s Act 1989.  Playgroup sessions cater for 24 children and are run by three experienced members of staff and assisted by a rota person – giving a ratio of six children to one adult.  The Playgroup is a charitable organisation and apart from the Nursery Grant we rely on fees, fund raising and parental support.

We have just been awarded a Big Lottery Grant and hope to open our brand new purpose built premises in 2007!!

Committee
The Playgroup is a charitable organisation and is run by a management committee made up of parents who are elected annually.  The responsibilities of the committee include the employment of staff, day to day management and fund raising.  The committee meets every month and is always pleased to hear your comments and suggestions.  New committee members are always welcome.

Who can attend?

Playgroup is open to any child between the ages of 2 years and 9 months and five years old.  We welcome all members of the community and always try to accommodate any child with special circumstances or special educational needs.

How is Kineton Playgroup judged?

The playgroup is inspected by Ofsted.  The report commented on our success on reaching the standards expected on the Early Learning Goals and commended the Playgroup on its achievements.  A copy of the report is available at Playgroup and on Ofsted’s website.  Ofsted inspect on a regular basis, checking building structure, safety provision, policies and activities that have all, to date, exceeded requirements.
