It’s
nearly Easter already, and although it has been a very short term we
have had lots of changes. We said good bye to Natalie and Stacey,
though neither are very far away. Stacey is now at the Primary
school helping in classes 1 and 2 and we wish her every success in
her training. Natalie is now a proud mum for the second time and we
still see her dropping off and collecting Millie. To stop Natalie
being too bored at home we thought she would like some assessments
to do. No escaping Playgroup.
We
are also happy to welcome two new staff members to Playgroup, Anna
and Ali. Anna has worked with us before on a voluntary basis and
Ali’s children used to come to Playgroup. Both have settled into
the Playgroup routine really well as if they had always been there.
We
have continued our “changes” topic this half term but
concentrated on growth. We started by looking at how plants grow and
what they need. The sunflower seeds, broad beans, and green hairy
creatures have thrived in our lovely warm building. We have also
seen some lovely baby photographs (which will be on display
shortly), looked at what babies can do and compared them to what we
can do now. Thank you to Sacha for coming in with her mum and be a
very obliging baby. We have measured ourselves, learnt about healthy
eating and keeping fit – thanks to our personal trainer Sarah
Littel.
We
are now looking at what we can do when we are even bigger.
Apparently we have some aspiring doctors, princesses, firemen,
policemen, racing car drivers, train drivers, tractor drivers and a
dog and a horse! The hairdressing role-play is proving very popular
– the staff have tried out some interesting new looks! We are also
looking forward to the visit from a policeman and a bomb disposal
expert.
With
the run up to the Easter break we are going to find out about
animals and animal life cycles with a visit to Little Kineton’s
pond. Finger’s crossed for some frog spawn before we break up. And
on that note, we would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter.
